Stephen Paul Metzger obituary - son of my ex-husband Paul James Metzger III

Metzger, Stephen P. age 29, suddenly on Thursday, February 27, 2014. Beloved son of Mary Ellen Metzger and Paul Metzger; beloved grandson of Betty Metzger and the late Jim; William Souders and the late Ruth; dear brother of Jennifer, Michael (Kimberly) and Andrew Metzger; dear nephew, cousin and friend to many. Stephen truly lived each and every day as if it were his last. His infectious laugh and unwavering positivity will be missed. Services: The Funeral Mass will be celebrated 9:00 a.m., Saturday, March 8 at St. Luke The Evangelist Church (7230 Dale, 63117). Interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Stray Rescue of St. Louis, 2320 Pine St., 63103. The family will receive friends Friday, March 7 in The Great Hall of Ambruster Chapel, 6633 Clayton Rd. (Clayton) from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Online condolences at ambrusterchapel.com

He was 76 and lived in Ladue at the time of his death. He formerly lived in Frontenac. A native of St. Louis, Mr. Altepeter was a 1942 graduate of Beaumont High School. He was a track and football scholarship student at Northwestern University, where he graduated with a bachelor of science degree. Mr. Altepeter married the former Alice Greve of St. Louis in 1950. They were divorced, and he later married the former Jan Berberich, who died in 1999. "
